USING CONTRAST TO DRAW THE EYE

Are you ready to get a little dramatic?

This week we’ll be seeking out contrasting lighting situations and learning how to use the light to draw the eye to our subjects!

What is the true power of light in composition?

Where you place your subject and which direction of light you are using will make a big impact and is an exciting compositional tool. Even considering small things such as the tonality of the background vs. the tonality of your subject can have dramatic influence in how strong of a visual pull your subject has in the photograph.

Be thinking about locations indoors or outdoors that provide some contrast. Contrast includes elements of brighter light mixed with elements of shadow. I know, dramatic, isn’t it ?
