Lifestyle Course Syllabus

Welcome to the Brooke Snow Lifestyle: Telling the Story course! This course is designed to teach fundamentals for successful storytelling images that are authentic and natural, with both an approach to professional and personal work .

There are four main modules for this course, broken down as follows:

Course Outline:

Week One: What is Lifestyle Photography? What storytelling elements help create a strong image?

Week Two: Point of View and the Less is More principle

Week Three: Conceptual Contrast and the Decisive Moment

Week Four: Theme (Telling a story in a single image) and The Self Portrait

Each module is accompanied with an assignment to implement and practice the principles and techniques discussed.

Tool Box

In addition to these course modules listed above, there is a toolbox area for the course covering general topics that may be of benefit to you as a photographer.

These tutorials are not associated with a correlating assignment or schedule.

Topics include some of the following:

Composition Cautions, Remembering the Frame, Special Features (a walk through several Lifestyle sessions), LIVE lifestyle sessions, and much more!

How does this class work?

1. Each week you’ll view the current video tutorial lessons for the week. Some weeks have more than one tutorial and if possible I encourage you to watch them either in the same sitting or same day to see how they compliment each other.

2. Homework assignments correspond with each weeks photography principles taught in the tutorials. You can watch feedback given on past students homework in the Archive section under the Homework Tab.

HOMEWORK

Homework assignments are issued each week to further enhance your learning experience of the weeks principles. Assignments offer you the application of information and true hands on practice.
